Here we are at the entrance to the Crook County Fair. Over on the main street of Prineville there were a couple small signs pointing to "fairgrounds". We think it would have been fun to see a big banner spanning the main street to entice visitors to the County Fair. But...maybe that is just us.
We arrived Saturday morning around 9:30.
Here is charming Vicki wandering past the animal petting area.
Here's the Midway. Eat some curly Fries, Take some Chances, Go on a ride, Do something fun. A neat clean area.
How about a fun ride in a wagon with bells jingling
This was really fun. The 4H members judge each others animals. This is an excellent way to learn what is important to judge and how to interact with people. Then...you have to verbally justify your grading. What an excellent way to learn social skills.
Could any folks be more encouraging than these "Wonderful Woolies" 4H sheep experts? I don't think so. They explained how things worked with the judging and made us feel welcome.
Here they are again. If anyone wonders about the future of our country...just look to these fine people. We think American values are alive and well in Crook County, Oregon.
