Picture of parking at fair. Our visit to the Josephine County Fair in Grants Pass was interesting. The main parking lot was full. There was an auxiliary lot operated by the Kiwanis. It seemed like we parked half way to Cave Junction. The yellow arrow points to a ferris wheel at the fair way off in the distance. But seriously, It is so great to see so many people supporting the local County Fair. This was a large fair and very well attended.
Picture of crowds. Here are some of the crowds.
Picture of animal barns. We worked our way to the 4H animal barns. They had character and are well maintained.
Picture of more animal barns. Here we go into the 4H awards barn.
Picture of 4H award ceremony. This was a fun awards ceremony. This little girl with a trophy about as big as her, had just won for having the most productive swine. The people in the stands were standing up and screaming like it was the biggest thing to ever happen. My guess would be that the little girl will carry the experience for a long time.
Picture of vegetable competition. open competition in vegetables.
Picture of gold panning. Grants Pass is in the heart of Oregon's gold region. These folks were trying their luck. There were some little nuggets found.
Picture of dunk tank. The old dunk tank is always a fun crowd pleaser.
Picture of arena full of people. The fairgrounds had a "Tuff Truck Monster Trucks" exhibition that filled the stands with screaming fans.
